After completing the 4th Endowment, Azrael ‘doodled’ a collection of spiritual sonnets that would later become the book of Pearls, a collection of meditations for becoming a Master.

shaping the life which he would live and there most humbly dwell;
placing within the mind that good direction
where he might safely tread,
to follow well in the
steps of God.
Pearl #25
When troubles come be calm and quiet,
let go the dark emotion.
But ponder deep and softly speak
and weigh within the hand.
For grace is born amidst the fires
which come with tribulation;
to make more noble and filled with God,
the one who struggles after.
Rise above the clamor,
and you will hear the song.
Rise above defeat,
and you will seize the prize.
Rise above the mediocre
and excellence will guide the way.
Rise above your lesser self
and the greater Self is born.
Choose to be spiritual
and the eternal will be revealed.
Choose the discipline which leads to prayer,
and meditations fill the heart.
Choose to study and to ponder
the words which lead to God,
and in you will rise the strength of angels
to make of you a Master.
Being free of distractions,
the Master hears.
Free of illusions,
the Master sees.
Free of doubt,
the Master dares.
Free of the self,
the Master shines,
to fill the world with light.
